Operation Diabetes is one of the largest patient care projects within MPSA that serves to promote diabetes awareness through blood glucose testing, diabetes education, and participation in local health fairs. Operation Diabetes partners with various organizations within the Twin Cities, such as the YMCA, the Mill City Farmers Market, Phillips Neighborhood Clinic, and many more local organizations. Volunteers have the opportunity to attend events like the JDRF walk, Camp Needlepoint, and Open Streets Minneapolis, where they can practice their patient education skills and glucose point-of-care testing. Operation Diabetes aims to raise awareness for diabetes, help educate underserved populations, and promote healthy living.
