Last fall through Operation Immunization, over 500 community members were vaccinated against influenza. Through a partnership with Walgreens and Phalen Family Pharmacy, pharmacy students were able to volunteer and give back to the community. Working with pharmacy preceptors, they focused on the importance of vaccinations and their implications in public health. The operation vaccinated and educated students in our community by visiting classrooms and participating in health fairs.
This year, Operation Immunization hopes to continue its collaborative efforts with both pharmacies from the previous year and expand its outreach programs with the medical school. We are always looking for volunteers and appreciate the time and commitment to keep Operation Immunization running. We would love to see you on board!
If you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to reach out to any of the Operation Immunization Coordinators.
