The Women’s Health Initiative is a new initiative that focuses on educating the public on issues pertaining to women’s health and expanding women's access to health care. We have spoken to many patients about HPV vaccines, osteoporosis, and preventative cancer screenings at health fairs alongside other MPSA patient care teams. We are excited about the new year and will continue to present our poster at as many health fairs as possible. We also have new plans for the semester including hosting a speaker at one of the MPSA meetings about having positive and comfortable conversations about sexual issues with patients, planning a recurrent tampon drive that will distribute feminine hygiene products to local women’s and homeless shelters, and creating new handouts focused on women’s health issues. We are also planning to set up tours of local women’s health centers that staff pharmacists so students can learn more about how pharmacists can specialize in women’s health.
