Providing health-system pharmacy opportunities for professional development, advocacy, and education.

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) is a national, professional pharmacy organization comprised of pharmacists, student pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians. ASHP provides a wide variety of resources to its members such as career services, drug information, continuing education, residency and technician training accreditation, conferences and meetings, and professional advocacy. The student chapter at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy is committed to representing the mission, vision, and efforts that are central to ASHP. We have a lot of exciting developments in progress for this year! We are working with the medical school to organize chart reading workshops to encourage interprofessional collaboration. The Clinical Skills Competition will be held this October, with the winning team heading to the finals at Mid-year (we are looking to break into the top 10!). We are also continuing with hospital tours and associated journal clubs, which are being planned monthly. We are excited about our ideas for a mentorship program and various topic discussions and guest speakers relating to work-life balance, hospital codes, antimicrobial stewardship, drug shortages, and more! Working with other student organizations is something that we are really looking forward to this year! If you have any questions, reach out to our liaisons using the contact info listed below!
